When delivering your new appliance we can take the old one away for just £20.00 and recycle it on your behalf. Simply tick the Recycle box in the shopping basket and make sure it’s disconnected and out of position when we get there.

We only charge for the cost of transporting your appliance for recycling. If you wish to return your appliance to us at no extra charge then this can be accepted at our premises below:

Genesis Home Appliances, Clay Flatts Trading Estate, Workington, Cumbria. CA14 2TQ

If you’ve purchased one of our installation services, we’ll disconnect your old domestic appliance for you as part of the service.

If you haven’t opted for an installation service, no problem, we just ask that you make sure you’ve safely disconnected your old appliance before we arrive (built-in/integrated appliances should be disconnected and completely removed from their housing).

Please use a qualified individual where required – please note gas and dual fuel cookers should be disconnected by Gas Safe Register approved engineers.

All new electrical and electronic equipment we sell can be recycled! You can tell because our products include a ‘crossed out wheeled bin symbol’ like this.

Recycling unwanted electrical products is better for the environment. Lead and other toxins contained in electrical goods can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a very harmful effect on the natural habitat, wildlife and also human health. When situated near populated areas these toxins can cause problems to communities as their water and soil is polluted.

Many of the electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save natural resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending waste electrical goods to landfill.
